Technical Service Officer
Provide outstanding marine, textile, industrial and food grade technical support to the Customer and the Sales Team in order to support the implementation of the business strategy and to help achieve profitable sales growth.
Scope of Job:
- This job is office based although the post holder may be required to travel independently on occasion.
- The post reports to the Technical Service Manager.
- The post holder will report to the Deputy Technical Service Manager or Senior Technical Service Officer on technical issues in the absence of the Technical Service Manager.
- Occasional bank holiday working.
Key Accountabilities:
- Explain complex technical issues in a way which can be understood by the customer, meeting their individual levels of understanding and expectations.
- Maintain and distribute safety data sheets (SDS’s) in line with all current legislation.
- Build strong relationships with external customers and liaise with our internal laboratory on technical questions and translate customer needs into internal requests. Feedback could be by presentation or report writing.
- Support the Technical Service (TS) Team in developing solutions to complex technical problems.
- Perform both as part of a team and autonomously in conducting desk research studies in support of business objectives.
- Maintain relevant technical databases in a manner that allows this intelligence to be disseminated accurately, in a timely manner and in support of the sales strategy.
- Ensure TS Office documents are correctly controlled via our quality control management system.
- Carry out routine but essential tasks and providing general support to the Technical Service Team in order to ensure service and customer satisfaction levels are maintained. • Process incoming samples and review results for the Oil Condition Monitoring System.
- Represent the company as required at conferences, field trials, inspections and customer meetings.
- Operate in a manner consistent with company safety, environmental, and regulatory principles and promotes these values.
